Grants Overview

A thriving nonprofit sector is key to fulfilling our vision of effective philanthropy and building stronger communities. The Central Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) is a partner and funder to a wide range of organizations doing important and innovative work in the Central Valley.

We are committed to supporting financial strength and building organizational capacity. Our grant-making continues to be an important source of funds in the region and through the Center for Community we are helping leverage resources and increase impact.

For more than fifty years CVCF has been a trusted partner in philanthropy in the Valley. Over the last decade, we have granted over $100 million to 750 agencies and organizations who are working to create positive change in our region.

CVCF Grantmaking

Though the majority of our grants are directed to nonprofits by our fundholders according to their own interests, our Foundation-directed grantmaking continues to grow, and we are committed to supporting an array of funding opportunities that serve the diverse needs of our community.

We invite you to browse our Foundation-directed grant opportunities by category below, review our recently awarded grants, and see the grant opportunities that are currently accepting proposals.

So many worthy organizations, with limited resources to fund them all, but CVCF makes the process fair and equitable for the ultimate benefit of our entire community! The grant-making process is truly one of the most comprehensive processes I have ever been a part of, both personally and professionally!
