This fund directs donated dollars to grassroots organizations that are working in Fresno to create a city that is more safe and just for Black residents. This is done through the advancement of policies that addresses longstanding racial inequities, reducing police violence and presence in Black communities and advancing other anti-racist work.

The following four organizations are examples of what the fund will support:

  • Faith in the Valley: working to advance the civic power of communities of color in Fresno, Faith in the Valley works with residents, political officials and leaders to create more just neighborhoods. This includes advocacy work connected to policing and the justice system, such as Advance Peace.
  • Fresno State NAACP: The organizers of the Fresno Freedom March, this group of young leaders are engaged in educating and advancing opportunities for Black Fresnans.
  • Building Healthy Communities: Works with communities to implement policies and practices that create One Healthy Fresno.
  • Fresno Boys and Men of Color: A program of the Youth Leadership Institute that provides leadership development, cultural healing practices, service and civic engagement opportunities to young men of color in Fresno.
