After serving four years in the United States Air Force, Doug entered college and completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Upon graduation, he joined the Orange County office of what was then known as Deloitte and Touche, an international accounting firm. In 1980, Doug moved to Fresno where he continued his public accounting career in the audit practice of Arthur Young & Company. After ten years, Doug became the CFO for Duncan Enterprises, a consumer products company located in Fresno. While at Duncan, Doug completed his MBA degree (with distinction) at California State University, Fresno. After being promoted to COO and serving 18 years with Duncan, Doug retired to pursue a variety of interests.

Currently, Doug is completing his tenth year of service as board member and treasurer of the Marjaree Mason Center, a nonprofit focusing on victims of domestic violence. He has taught at California State University, Fresno, for approximately fifteen years and currently instructs an MBA class entitled Financial Management.
